notice of service suspension
hi everyone! as you know lamour has been down for the most of this week and we have some pretty unfortunate news to share about the project.
every discord bot requires a server to be hosted on. lamour uses google cloud platform to host its web project and database. google offers a free 3 month ($300 in GCP credit) to use, and recently the trial expired.
our original estimated $20-$30 a month for all services to host lamour, including the website, database and virtual machine after the free trial, instead, google charged us for the entire free trial quota at an extended rate, reaching $224.83 which everybody on the team agrees they are not comfortable paying out of pocket for obvious reasons, this is a free project
on the 30th of september, google indefinetly suspended backend access to lamour until the bill is paid. this means we no longer have access to the source code.
if the bill isn't paid in full by 30th october, lamourr and its related projects will be terminated for good
so, whats next?
as a development team, we are unsure where to go from here. we love lamourr and have been excited and extremely proud of this project. we are working hard like we have been doing tirelessly for months to restore lamourr and related services.
giving up on lamourr is our absolute last option, however we do not have many of them. an appeal will be sent out to google later tonight and an update will be published when we hear back.
