data policy

this policy outlines how lamour uses, and secures your information. by interacting with the bot, you agree to the practices described below.

1. data collection and processing​

we only collect data that is necessary for the bot to function correctly.

  • user identifiers: we collect and store discord user ids.
  • server identifiers: we collect and store discord server ids.
  • message reading: the bot reads messages sent in your server but does not process them or log the content unless the message starts with our command prefix (the default prefix is ;).
  • error logs: we automatically collect error information when the bot crashes or encounters an issue. this is used purely for diagnostics to improve the bot.

2. how server ids are handled​

server ids are stored securely in firebase to manage localized server preferences. the moment our bot is removed or kicked from a server, all related data with that guild and its associated users is instantly deleted from our database.

3. how we use your data​

stored data is used exclusively to power specific bot features:

  • economy systems: user ids are tied to balance tracking, game info, or progression data.
  • bot moderation: user ids are used to handle bot-specific moderation tasks. this moderation is strictly used to suspend users from utilizing the bot if they violate rules.
  • artificial intelligence: we do not use ai or machine learning in any function, command, or data processing aspect of the bot. all actions are handled by hardcoded programming.

4. data storage and security​

  • firebase storage: all gathered user data, economy statuses, and settings are stored externally using googles firebase.
  • encryption: we are secure with the data we collect. all user data and database records are fully encrypted to protect your information from unauthorized access.
  • access controls: access to the firebase backend is restricted to the development team, and we implement strict security rules.

5. data retention and deletion​

  • automatic removal: we do not hold your data indefinitely. all stored user information, economy metrics, and logs are completely removed from our systems after 60 days of user inactivity.
  • manual deletion: if you want your data removed from our encrypted firebase database before the automatic expiration period, you can contact the bot developers directly through our support channels to request an immediate full deletion.

6. data sharing​

we do not sell, trade, or share any gathered user ids, server ids, encrypted data, or bot information with outside third parties.
